“God Calls Each of Us by Name”

“In the Old Testament, Isaiah the Prophet reminds us that God calls each of us by name and identifies us as his own” (Isaiah 43:1). This week in Religion, the PreK-3 students learned that their name is special and that God knows and loves each one of us by name. We emphasized the importance of respecting each other and seeing each other as God’s child.  As a supplemental activity, the students used watercolor to reveal their special name given to them by their parents at birth. This was a fascinating lesson because the students could not see their name until they covered the paper with watercolor.
